The ABA 2024 Fidelity & Surety Law Midwinter Conference convened January 24th through the 26th at The Roosevelt Waldorf Astoria in New Orleans focus on exceptional construction, surety, and fidelity programs packed with leading attorneys and consultants in the industry. The construction program explored the critical legal and practical concepts and knowledge needed to navigate basic and complex issues that arise in a construction project. The surety program examined project delivery methodologies and the impact each of those methodologies has on surety defaults and related legal challenges. The fidelity program took a deep dive into cutting-edge and nuanced fidelity and cyber issues.

SMTD’s own Marilyn Klinger served as the FSLC Program Co-Chair while Ali Salamirad spoke on Strategies for Effectively Resolving Complex ADM Claims.  The panel of decision-makers discussed their experience and strategies for effectively resolving complex claims on alternative delivery method construction projects from the prime contractor, subcontractor, and surety perspectives. The panel was facilitated by an experienced claims expert and counsel, who will explore the issues that clients commonly encounter when navigating such claims and shared important takeaways for construction and surety professionals.
